A Soul New World

Let go and let soul

A few weeks ago while walking on the beach I audibly heard, “You must let go of the life you have planned so as to welcome in the life waiting for you.” Joseph Campbell

I’d heard this before but this time it hit differently. I realized I now knew what letting go FELT like, because I had lived it.

At the end of 2020, following the whispers of my soul, I left life in Florida to move to Tennessee with NO idea of where I would land or how it would be but I knew I had to go. I let go and trusted. Here’s a photo of my doggie, Luna & I at 5:44a ready to set off on our trip. Wink, wink said the angels with the 44 minute timing.

I sold or gave away everything except what could fit in the back of my SUV & we were off. Everything unfolded in Tennesse more magically than I could’ve ever imagined it would and in November I’ll have been here for 2 full years.

When the quote about letting go dropped into my awareness a few weeks ago when I was visiting Florida, I knew it was a reminder to take note of how far I’ve come, how I’ve grown & a reminder to let go of expectations AGAIN, trust, & expect magic. Things were shifting & what was showing up in my life was better than I imagined it would be.

I was a little caught off guard; it’s the nature of the mind to think it has it all figured out. The minds tends to resist letting go, thinking it’s keeping us safe. We can learn to understand the nature of the mind & experience the self that is beyond it, which in my experience in the soul.

The soul loves the unknown.

It’s pure possibility & creation wanting to be birthed through us. It wants to express through us for the greater good, both personally & collectively.

I’ve learned to let go, experience & come to know the soul through various forms of embodiment work such as movement, meditation, breathwork, cyclical work, holistic health, etc.

One of my favorite forms of this is Qoya; My intro to Qoya was over 10 years ago when I came across a video of 2 women dancing in their kitchen uninhibited & simply for the joy of it.

I felt a ZING in my body watching. It’s something I both remembered & knew I was missing. This was Qoya. Qoya means Queen in Quechuan (an indigenous language used by shamans in South America).

I’ve been so grateful to complete 2 out of the 3 phases of Qoya teacher training, deepening my own practice and beginning to hold space for other women on their journeys. The next leg of my journey will be in November when I complete the intensive and become certified as a Qoya teacher.

Do you have any embodiment practices? If so, share below. I’ll be holding in person & online practice classes over the next few months to prep for the intensive. if you’d like to be kept in the loop for classes, comment below or send me a DM.

In the meantime, check out Qoya’s youtube channel or the website for various movement videos & TRUST that it’s going to work out better than you could’ve ever imagined it. Sending you so much love!
